FAQ – A5 Waterproof Paper (300gsm)
Q: Can I use this paper in an inkjet printer?
A: No. This synthetic waterproof paper is not suitable for inkjet printers because the ink may remain wet, smudge or rub off. It is designed for use with compatible laser printers.
Q: Will it work with every laser printer?
A: Not necessarily. At 300gsm, it may be too thick for some laser printers. Check your printer’s maximum supported paper weight, media settings and feeding requirements before ordering.
Q: Is it completely waterproof?
A: Yes, the synthetic material itself is waterproof and will not become soggy when exposed to rain or spills. Printed results may vary according to the printer and toner used, so we recommend testing a small quantity first.
Q: Is this real paper?
A: It’s a specialist synthetic paper designed to look and print like paper while providing much greater resistance to water, tearing and demanding conditions.
Q: What does 300gsm feel like?
A: It has a substantial and rigid card-like feel, making it ideal for signs, notices and information sheets that need to hold their shape.
Q: Can I write on it by hand?
A: Yes. It works with many pens, permanent markers and pencils. Different inks can behave differently on synthetic surfaces, so test your chosen pen first and allow it to dry fully.
Q: Can it be used outdoors?
A: Yes, it is suitable for many outdoor applications. However, prolonged exposure to strong sunlight or extreme weather may eventually affect the printed image, depending on the printer and toner used.
Q: Does it need laminating?
A: Usually not. The sheet itself is already waterproof and tear-resistant. Lamination may still be used when additional protection for the printed surface is required.
Q: Can it be cut or hole-punched?
A: Yes. It can be trimmed, cut and hole-punched using suitable equipment. It is a tough 300gsm material, though, so flimsy cutting tools may find it a bit of a workout.
Q: Is it resistant to oils, grease and chemicals?
A: It is designed to resist oils, grease and many chemicals. Performance can vary between substances, so test it first if contact with a particular chemical is expected.
Q: Is it suitable for food labels or menus?
A: It can be used for general labels, menus and signs in food environments, but no claim is made that it is certified for direct food contact.
Q: Are VAT and UK delivery included?
A: Yes. VAT and standard UK delivery are included in the displayed price, so there shouldn’t be any unpleasant surprises at checkout.
Q: Can I order a small quantity first?
A: Yes—and we recommend doing so if you need to check printer compatibility, appearance or suitability for a particular project before placing a larger order.
Q: Can I get other sizes or custom-cut sheets?
A: Yep! Browse our other waterproof paper sizes or contact us to ask about custom cutting.
